Knottingley to Leeds Service
« on: January 29, 2009, 05:04:03 AM »
 >:( This service on Monday 26th January was 36 mins late! No annoucements on the platform or on the train when eventually got on and no apology or reason for the delay! Not the first time but I have only just found this site seen as I have not been able to complain directly to Northern Rail.  But in today's economic climate people cannot afford to be late! Since the timetable change 15/12/08 the train has been on time only a handful of times! The rest of the time the train is anywhere from 15 - 40 mins late, arriving in Leeds after 9am! From Knottingley you either get into Leeds at 7am or 8.20am! Not good!

Hi

You could try sending your views to Northern Rail at customer.relations@northernrail.org or Passenger Focus who are also partly involved with this service at info@passengerfocus.org.uk or fillin a complaint form to Metro on the following link

https://www.wymetro.com/contactmetro/Feedback/ComplaintsAndFeedbackForm.htm?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2fcontactmetro%2fFeedback%2fComplaintsAndFeedbackForm.htm&NRNODEGUID=%7b6FE34FB1-E8AE-4F8D-ABA7-12D362DFB4CD%7d&NRCACHEHINT=Guest

I've decided to keep a train diary and let them know the misery wwe have to put up with everyday!  Maybe this is going too far but I'm just irratated by the lack of service they're providing.

Good luck  ;)

Hi Deano,

i think the train diary is a great idea - would you be prepared to do a post containing a summary of your results here?

Richard

Of course, I'll keep everyone updated on what response I get from last weeks diary, I think this weeks may not count due to bad weather conditions!

You dont say what time train it is but an alternative journey is available via Wakefield Kirkgate

Knottingley dep 0658
Ponte Monk dep 0702
Ponte tan dep 0705
Wake K arr 0724
change to platform 1
Wake K dep 0728
Leeds arr 0751

(admittedly this one only gives 4 mins at Wake instead of the usual 10)
This gives equivalent of 2 per hour.
