I must give praise where it's due. The 07.55am train from Marsden to Manchester Victoria was a pleasant journey this morning. The front two carriages were newly upholstered with a nice purple coloured cover. The seats were nice and soft too. There was no writing on the sides or scratches etc. I was pleasantly surprised.
However, there's always two sides to a story and although the seats were nice and comfortable, there was some rubbish between my feet, crisp packets and fruit drink cartons. I'll still give them 8/10. It's a vast improvement to what it was like a few months back. Well done Northern Rail. If you get rid of the rubbish, I might up my score.
